Characteristics of SEDUM palmieri
An unusual and very attractive sedum from northeastern Mexico where it grows in the mountains at altitudes of 1000 metres, forming dense mats on rocky slopes. Sedum palmeri has rosettes of large, fleshy, green to grey-green leaves that turn pink-red under the stress of sun or cold. The leaves are considerably larger than those of most Sedums and more closely resemble the foliage of an Echeveria or Aeonium. It flowers early in spring, producing numerous bright yellow star-shaped flowers borne in a multi-branched inflorescence that spreads above the foliage.
How to use SEDUM palmieri
In combination with other Sedums, Echeverias, Aeoniums to create dry gardens, rock gardens, cactus arrangements. It will make a very good ground cover at the foot of shrubs and in mineral gardens.
Tips for growing SEDUM palmieri successfully
This sedum is very drought resistant. It adapts to ordinary, moderately moist and even chalky soil. However, it is best to give it a well-drained soil so that it can flourish. It can also be watered regularly during the growing season and reduced during the dormant season.
