Characteristics of Agapanthus ‘Fanch Beauty’
Agapanthus ‘Fanch Beauty’ belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family. This rhizomatous perennial forms a dense clump of long, strap-shaped green leaves with broad yellow margins. Depending on winter conditions, the foliage may be deciduous or semi-evergreen, providing prolonged ornamental value. From June to August, rigid flower stems rise to approximately 60 to 70 cm and carry large umbels composed of violet-blue flowers. More compact than many agapanthus cultivars, this selection maintains a regular, well-balanced shape. It withstands temperatures down to approximately -10°C when grown in perfectly drained soil and a sheltered position.

Avoid any waterlogging around the rhizomes, particularly in winter. Incorporate mature compost at planting, then apply a potassium-rich fertiliser in spring.
