Close to the Serpolet, the THYMUS nitens is a creeping variety creating quickly small cushions of 15cm high. The small oval, shiny leaves are persistent and aromatic. In spring a multitude of pink flowers in spikes appear creating a pink carpet. A second flowering can occur in autumn. Melliferous, they attract in number the foraging insects. Very good ground cover, it picks easily and resists well to excess of humidity. It is very well suited as an alternative to grass, especially for slopes and sunny situations.
