FICUS Brown Turkey is a highly productive self-fertile fig tree, ideal for temperate climates. It produces two annual crops of sweet figs with purple-brown skin and red flesh. Notably cold-hardy for a fig, it is well-suited to both ground planting and container cultivation, even in cooler regions.

FICUS Brown Turkey is an old variety from Asia Minor, selected for its cold resistance and reliable fruiting even outside Mediterranean zones. It bears two crops per year of sweet, flavorful figs with thin purple-brown skin and dark red pulp. Its large, decorative deciduous foliage complements its medium-sized, spreading growth habit. FICUS Brown Turkey can be grown in the ground in sunny, sheltered spots or in containers for colder regions. It fits perfectly into home orchards, ornamental kitchen gardens, or as a stand-alone feature in Mediterranean-style landscapes. In pots, it enhances patios and terraces, and it also performs well trained against a south-facing wall. FICUS Brown Turkey thrives in well-drained, light soil, enriched with organic matter. It should be planted in full sun, protected from wind. Space trees at least 3 m apart. Prune lightly in late winter to promote fruiting. When grown in pots, water regularly and apply organic fertilizer in spring. Mulch the base to conserve moisture and protect roots in winter.Characteristics of FICUS Brown Turkey
