LIGULARIA dentata Midnight Lady is a large, striking perennial with exuberant purple-green to black foliage. The rounded leaves appear dark green and are tinged with purple to black. They are shiny and provide a nice contrast to the flowering. The flowers rise above the foliage in golden yellow heads throughout the summer. Native to marshy areas, it likes cool to moist, low-fertility soils and sunny locations.
