Gladiolus papilio

Gladiolus papilio are autumn gladiolus, also called "Butterfly gladiolus". With its upright habit, this perennial is easy to recognize thanks to its gracious flowering, composed of white, yellow or pink bell-shaped flowers in grappes. The name of Butterfly gladiolus comes from the inside of the petals, with a pink-purple eye on a yellow background like the wing of a butterfly. This variety, native from South Africa, likes rich soils and full-sun plantings.
