Its upright stems carry flower heads composed of deep pink ray florets arranged around a prominent brown-orange central cone. Its more restrained growth compared with many echinaceas helps maintain a dense habit without producing excessively tall flower stems. Flowering mainly continues from June to September. The green deciduous foliage gradually dies back in autumn before new growth emerges the following spring.
