The characteristics of METROSIDEROS Sunninghill.
Originally from New Zealand, the Metrosideros are a family of trees that can reach a height of about twenty meters. In our latitudes they remain smaller, to be considered as a shrub. The METROSIDEROS Sunninghill is distinguished by its beautiful, slightly tough foliage and its creamy yellow variegation in the center and green on the edges. The bloom in bright red hops and yellow pistil unfolds from June to August. This flowering is very remarkable contrasting with the foliage.
How to use METROSIDEROS Sunninghill.
METROSIDEROS Sunninghill is an ornamental shrub which will acclimatize well in coastal gardens and not too harsh areas, otherwise it will have to be overwintered when temperatures are around 0°C. It can be combined with Banana trees, Phormiums, Philodendrons, Ferns, for a Jungle garden effect.

METROSIDEROS Sunninghill should be planted in a place sheltered from cold winds, in a cool but well drained soil and a sunny exposure.
