All details concerning Abelia x grandiflora Kaleidoscope ®:

This is an horticulture variety obtained in 2006 by Randy Lindsay. This Abelia is gifted with a half evergreen foliage, that is also nicely green variegated, within a range from golden yellow during the spring to dark green. Young orangy shoots turn to red at the autumn end. Small bell shaped pinky white and perfumed flowers appear in summer, they last in autumn (from July to October). Naturally compacted and decorative plant thanks to its colour gradation (as its name indicates it).

How to use Abelia x grandiflora Kaleidoscope ® ?

Thanks to its rounded and regular habit (around 60cm height and width), Abelia x grandiflora Kaleidoscope ® grows well in pot on a balcony, terrace, courtyard. Perfect for small spaces or little shrubs' border. It is cold-resistant until -12°C and suits to rather mild winter's climate.

What advices to achieve the Abelia x grandiflora Kaleidoscope ®'s growth ?

Choose a rather drained soil, which will foster the pink colour at the autumn beginning. If it is possible, choose a fresh wind shelterd area. In winter, protect it from frost in case of harsh temperatures by the use of mulch and wintering veil.
