CARISSA macrocarpa is an extremely interesting exotic fruit tree, also known as Natal's plum tree. It comes from South Africa, it is gifted with an original evergreen foliage, little deliciously fragrant white flowers (a jasmine's cousin) as well as fleshy, rich in vitamines and edible red fruits. We reserve it for the seaside, terraces with a good sun exposure or defensive hedges (it has thorns). It is also dry and sea spray-resilient.
